Last week’s rainy days had taken away most of the snow and people were complaining about global warming. But the snow and the winter vibe came back. It snowed so much the last two days that Tromsø turned into a Winter Wonderland one more time. Oh! You won’t believe how happy the skiers are!
University looked lovely with the white veil this afternoon.
I had a nice time keeping him company while he was smoking, at my favorite ‘breather’ space.
We went to Lyfjord after two months. If you have been reading my blog, then you know how much I love this place. It was a delightful break from the stressful studies and work life.
The house where we stay, stands by the sea and is further away from all the other houses in Lyfjord center. The nearest neighboring house is 5 mins walk away. There is a barn, an outside toilet, a boathouse and a storage room along with a two story main house. It’s an old Norwegian house so, there is no running water in the tap. However, the most fun part of living here is to fetch water from the nearby river.
Thankfully, there is an electric stovetop/oven and firewood oven to make food. Heating system works fine in the ground floor rooms. There is also an old TV with national channel NRK that we love to watch. I personally love listening to the old radio in the kitchen. Since there is no bathrooms in the house, we don’t shower when we are there. That’s the typical Norwegian cabin life: outside toilet and no shower. 😉
Nevertheless, I find living in Lyfjord very calming and rejuvenating. On this trip, I realized how much I actually enjoy baking. We baked ginger cookies and bollers.
And the bonus point, of course was the amazing dance by my favorite green lady. The whole sky was lighted up by powerful green aurora.
It snowed so much last night. We were gonna take the bus and it was a hell of a walk to the bus stop through the snow. We are now back to our student housing but I am already missing Lyfjord and the stress free life there.
It has been an impromptu day for us. We went to bed early so, ended up waking up very early. Played a game of Magic along with our coffee. It was a cut throat competition. We had a lot of fun.
Then, we went for a walk to city centre ‘sentrum‘ and on the way we met one of our housemate. He told us he was going to watch a free movie screening at the local theater. It was a movie about climate change ‘Before the Flood’ starring Leonardo Di Caprico. So, after getting some new sleeves for the magic cards, we decided to go watch the movie. It was a very interesting movie dealing with the issue of global warming, its causes and impact. It also discussed about our roles and responsibilities to address the issue and find solutions to the problem. However, my favourite part of the movie was the intro where he talks about one of my favourite artists Hieronymous Bosch’s work ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’. I will however, not spoil how this art piece is related to the movie. This work is so psychedelic, surreal and thought-provoking that you can lose yourself in each frame forever.
There is a new wish on my bucketlist and that is to see The Garden of Earthly Delights for real. 🙂
Snow came to Tromsø finally! It was so stormy last night but this morning I woke up to this.
We are still at the cabin. Still no electricity. We figured out that for some reason, the radiator works. So, it’s not cold anymore.
View from my window this afternoon was lovely when the weather turned grey and the mountains disappeared.
We spent time playing magic the gathering.
Today has been the Magic day!
We were at our favourite hangout and we met couple of Magic enthusiasts! I played against someone who later helped me restructure my deck a bit by lending her cards. Oh! How much I enjoyed the experience.
Thanks to all of you for discovering my floating universe and showing so much love. This is an anonymous blog, so, I don’t publicise this anywhere in social media. But despite this, 1000 likes means a lot for me. I don’t think about likes that much when I post. It’s mainly just to express what I am feel. However, I feel very happy when you guys drop by and write kind words. I am grateful to all of you for joining me in this journey.😊
We have been playing so much of the Witcher 3 lately. I enjoy the graphic part of the game a lot. It’s an aesthetic game.
After killing some monsters, beasts and enemies when Geralt of Rivia looks at a view like this, feels heavenly satisfying.
And then my horse Roach pulls stunts like this, we burst into laughter.
I went out for a bit today. I can’t actually describe in words how beautiful Tromsø looks these days.
This city of boats and Northern lights never fails to amaze me.
I am so fascinated with trees and lights.
Signs of winter is all over places now. Soon Tromsø will turn into white beauty.
Tromsø was greeted by a beautiful sun today. We went to see off little sister. And walked all the way to the coast to enjoy the sun.
These memories I have made with him are so precious and beautiful that it makes life as a human worthwhile.
So, here is the proof for my sun craziness. More sun pictures!
Today has been EPIC. We had a fun time buying booster pack of Magic the gathering at Bruktbokhandel. It’s a geek heaven and the coolest store in Tromsø.We fixed our deck. And then we had a fun trust game. We took turns closing our eyes and walking the road completely relying on the one another each turn. He managed perfectly. I was a bit frightened. I opened my eyes a couple of times. Lol!
He gave me a birthday treat at our favourite hangout Aunegården. It’s a fabulous place in Tromsø. We played Magic for many hours. I realized that gaming dates are much more fun than regular dates. 😊
Last night we had a midnight pancake party. It was a lot of fun. We played Magic the gathering. Little sis loved it. Even though she’s just 11, she is way clever for her age. And the deck we bought for her was so good. So, she crushed me with his help.
We climbed a mountain and watched the view from the top in the afternoon. I am extremely blessed to celebrate my birthday with lovely people.
We came back from the cabin. Living for three days with little sis was amazing.
The bus we took back home waited for 38 minutes at Skulsfjord. I got off from the bus while he and little sister stayed in playing games on their phones. I was just strolling by the sea when I met three very cute Norwegian kids. They just came and asked: ‘Hva heter du?’ (what is your name?) I speak negligible Norwegian but I managed to answer their questions. I had a nice time chatting with them. The view was breathtaking. I said goodbye to them after a while.
This year’s birthday was also very special.
P.S. One year ago, this day, I had my spiritual awakening. So, cheers for the memory of that day!
I have three dragons in my life now. I got this in my deck and on this morning’s game, I managed to kick his ass. I love this card and I love this game. 😊
